Concerned about your health?
Taking a blood test will give you the information
you need to live a longer healthier life
More and more people are becoming proactive about their health. There is no better way for patients to check for underlying health problems, or monitor existing conditions, than with a blood test. Anne's Aesthetics Studio is working with a state-of-the-art laboratory in London.
We offer the latest in pathology testing solutions across many disciplines, including biochemistry, immunology, haematology, sexual health screening and molecular biology. Whether people are concerned about their health, simply curious, or perhaps are managing an existing condition, blood tests provide a fast and easy way for them to start taking charge of their health.
Process:
The quickest and most effective way is via phlebotomy (taking blood). Having a blood sample taken at Anne's Aesthetics Studio will allow for a greater quantity of blood to be drawn and therefore a greater range of tests is possible. The very popular Premier Health Profile, for example, cannot be run without taking a sample intravenously, as it requires a full blood count. Having a test taken at Anne's Aesthetics Studio also ensures that our network of nationwide couriers are able to get your sample directly to the laboratory on the very same day.
Results:
Patients will receive a full report by email with results of their test/s, showing how their results compare with normal reference ranges.
All test results are reviewed by a GP who will highlight anything that may need further investigation or follow-up.

Please contact Anne's Aesthetics Studio if the test is not listed. There are over 400 Tests available.
Diabetes Tests
A high HbA1c is used to diagnose diabetes. It is particularly useful because it gives an indication of how often you have had abnormally high blood glucose levels over the previous 3 months – rather than a glucose test which only shows your level at a single point in time. It is a potentially life-saving test and it is quite common for people to have diabetes and not know about it.

Sports Fitness
Training for a marathon or triathlon? New to fitness? Or perhaps you’re simply interested in getting a better understanding of your physiology. Our blood tests can help you to track and monitor your progress by checking essential biomarkers. You can track the results over time to see how well your body is functioning and responding to the exercise regime, as well as flagging up any health issues which may need to be addressed.

General Health
Regular blood testing is one of the most effective ways to prevent illness and maintain great general health. A blood-test provides a snapshot from which we can better understand our hormones, cholesterol, kidney and liver function or check for any vitamin deficiencies. Being tested at routine intervals will give you an insight into how your body changes over time, allowing you to make informed decisions based around your health.

Heart Health
This profile analyses some of the major risk factors for heart problems.
This profile will tell you if you have diabetes (HbA1c) - there are over 1 million people with diabetes who do not know they have it. Finding out will enable you to make the lifestyle changes and start treatments that will significantly lengthen your life and improve how you feel every day.
It includes a full cholesterol profile analysing over 5 parameters. Over 40% of adults have high cholesterol levels which is a very significant risk factor for heart attacks and strokes. The only way to detect if you have high cholesterol is through a blood test. It will enable you to make the changes you need to reduce your risk of some of the most common causes of death.
Generalised inflammation is tested with a high sensitivity C-reactive protein level. Firstly, Inflammation is bad for your heart. A high CRP level can also indicate the presence of a very wide range of other health problems like autoimmune disease, bacterial infections, osteomyelitis, pelvic inflammatory disease and inflammatory bowel disease

Fertility Hormones Profile
The Female Hormone Profile is a test that analyses the levels of specific hormones in a woman's body that help regulate various functions in the body, including the menstrual cycle, fertility, and overall health.
This test specifically focuses on hormones that are important for female reproductive health, such as oestrogen, luteinising hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, testosterone and prolactin.
By measuring these hormone levels, this profile can give valuable information about your hormonal balance and overall reproductive health.
It can help identify any hormonal imbalances that may be causing irregular periods, fertility issues, or other reproductive problems.
Additionally, this test can also be used to monitor hormone levels during hormone replacement therapy or to assess the effectiveness of certain medications.

Male Hormone Profile
This complete profile analyses the range of hormones that affect every aspect of a man's health and wellness. Everything from energy, strength, concentration, mood, libido, to muscle strength and bone health is dependent on these hormones being at the right level and in balance.
Testosterone and all the other essential hormones steadily reduce after the age of 30 with rapidly accelerating loss later in life - particularly from 60.
The optimum levels needed for maximum male health and wellness are debated but whatever you decide about treatment, you need to start with understanding and monitoring these hormones.
All of these hormones exist in both men and women but in very different concentrations and have very different functions if you are male.
Testosterone we all know is directly associated with most of the man's physical characteristics of bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass and strength and it is also essential in the production of red blood cells and sperm.
A small amount of testosterone is converted to oestradiol which is also essential for healthy libido, erectile function and making sperm.
Prolactin has a vital role in balancing the production of testosterone.
LH also is essential to producing testosterone while FSH stimulates sperm production
DHEAS is essential to make testosterone and this oestradiol in men in the first place, and SHBG manages how much testosterone can be useful to all your tissues.
The complex interplay between all these hormones is responsible for so much there is to being a healthy man, physically and mentally.

Vitamin Profile
Vitamin deficiencies can be the cause of a wide range of common symptoms and conditions.
Vitamin B12 is particularly important for those on a plant-based diet. Low levels of Vitamin B12 and Folate can have very severe effects on blood and overall health.
Vitamin D is also very important for anyone living in the UK. Up to a quarter of the population is low in Vitamin D at the end of winter. Low levels can cause a long list of health problems including fatigue, bone & muscle pain, depression and more.

Tiredness/Fatigue Profile
This test is designed to discover clues in your blood as to why you may be feeling unusually tired or fatigued.
It will give you information on on several common things that doctors look for in blood tests that may give physical reasons for tiredness. It includes a full blood count and tests for vitamin D, inflammation, iron levels including ferritin and thyroid function tests.
Analysis of 9 essential biomarkers including:
-
Full Blood Count
-
Iron levels
-
Ferritin
-
Transferrin
-
Vitamin D
-
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
-
Free T4 (Thyroxine)

Cholesterol Lipid Profile
This test is a very comprehensive profile analysing 7 parameters including total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL “good”, LDL “bad” levels, and the ratios and percentages between them.
Over 40% of adults have high cholesterol levels and it is a very signficant risk factor for heart attacks and strokes.
The only way to find out if you have high cholesterol is through a blood test. Most high cholesterol is due to a diet high in saturated fats which are in particularly high levels in animal fats. Some cholesterol is essential but we tend to get far to much. Your genes contribute a lot to your cholesterol levels too but you will never know without taking a blood test.
About 1 in 250 people have very high cholesterol levels caused by a genetic condition called familial hypercholesterolaemia. This sadly often results in many family members dying far too early of heart attacks. It can be treated and will take more than dietary changes alone, but knowing if you have it is of course essential.
Knowing allows you to take control and make the changes you need to make to ensure you have the best chance of a long and health life.

Male Sexual Health - Advanced Screen
Sexually transmitted infections are very common in young people and increasingly common throughout the lives of any sexually active adult. Testing is the only way to be confident you and your partner(s) are safe.
infections tested for are chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and syphilis which are the commonest sexually transmitted infections.
It is estimated that 1 in 10 sexually active young people have a chlamydia infection.
Many men do not have any symptoms at all for the infections being tested although in some there is pain on urination, discharge and other symptoms.
Whether there are symptoms or not, the potential for serious harm is very high with all the conditions tested for. They can cause infertility, very painful prostatitis and epididymitis, liver failure and unfortunately, even death.
Many people choose to test when starting a serious relationship or at regular intervals.
Testing is essential to keep you safe.

Well Woman Premier Plus Profile
This blood test is specifically designed to provide women with the most comprehensive check-up.
It gives you vital information about a wide range of very important health conditions. Having a blood test today can add years of health and wellness to your life. The conditions tested for very often take many years for symptoms to develop and some do not show any symptoms at all, but if not tested for, in the meantime, untreated, damage is being done.
A full blood count tests for haemoglobin levels, red cells, white cells and platelets. This checks for anaemia and can also give early insight into a very wide range of blood diseases and health conditions that are commonly slow to become apparent from symptoms. It adds vital insight into the activity of your immune system and your clotting function.
This profile will tell you if you have diabetes (HbA1c) - there are over 1 million people with diabetes who do not know they have it. Finding out will enable you to make the lifestyle changes and start treatments that will significantly lengthen your life and improve how you feel every day.
Your thyroid function is tested. at least 1 in every 8 women will have problems with their thyroid function during their lifetime and it is notoriously difficult to diagnose thyroid problems by symptoms or medical examination. It is a blood test that gives you the definitive answer and can potentially avoid months, and often years, of unexplained tiredness, hair loss, weight problems, menstrual problems and more.
Firstly Inflammation is bad for your heart. A high level can also indicate the presence of a very wide range of other health problems like autoimmune disease, bacterial infections, osteomyelitis, pelvic inflammatory disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
Hormones tested for are oestrogen, luteinising hormone and progesterone. These three hormones can give valuable information about fertility, menopause and more.
A full iron status profile, including ferritin is analysed. Iron is essential to maintain blood health (among other things) and your current levels and storage capacity are very important indicators for many health conditions.
Vitamins tested are Vitamin B12 and Folate which are essential for health blood and other systems. Vitamin D is included. Over 1 in 6 people are Vitamin D deficient and this is higher at the end of winter and in people who cover their skin. Low Vitamin D levels cause a wide array of misery including muscle and bone pain, pins and needles, muscle weakness and more. It also increases the risks of a range of cancers. You need a blood test to determine exactly how low your levels are so you can follow the right treatment plan to restore your health and wellness.
This profile also checks your liver function. Your liver is probably the most complex and vital organ in your body. It does such a wide range of things including digesting all your food and removing toxins and poisons - like alcohol. Finding that your liver is being stressed can make a huge difference to its (and your) long term health and wellness.
Included is a kidney function test. Your kidney is also a vital organ. Checking that it is working properly is done primarily by blood tests which will give you the opportunity to get treatment early if any is needed.
It checks your bone health with a calcium level, which is vital for bones and many other bodily systems, and checks you muscle health with creatine kinase which can show if you have damaged muscles. It checks for gout which can be altered dramatically with lifestyle and treatment and can cause a lot of misery if ignored.
This profile includes 58 health indicators
